 Everyone has their own opinion about George Lucas's new Star Wars
trilogy. Some say that they are better than the originals, and some are
patiently waiting for Episode 3 to watch Anakin Skywalker disintegrating in a
pool of acid, or whatever happens to the boy that turns him into Darth Vader.
I personally was very disappointed in
the new movies. Not because they were bad, but they just didn't hit me the way
the old trilogy did. I'll never forget the first time I saw The Empire
Strikes Back. I was about 11 years old and I had never been a big fan of the
science-fiction genre (I was still reading Judy Blume and watching Full
House). Something about that movie just hit me. Maybe it was because Luke
Skywalker was just a normal kid then BAM he's the coolest guy in the
galaxy. I got a Lay-A-Way on some power converters...
Maybe I don't feel such a strong
connection with Anakin because I already know that he's gonna grow up to be the
most evil man in the galaxy. I'm kinda waitin' for that acid bath,
too.
